Damon Poeter writes: "6.7 Billion Say 'No Thanks' To Apple's 3G IPhone". Just a million iPhones got sold this weekend.
Right on. Funny.
The AP writes "Quirk in Belgian law drives iPhones near $1,000". The article compares it to the AT&T locked in price of $299, which isn't fair though. They should compare it to the unlocked price of about $550. Still a big difference, and 21% VAT/GST doesn't help either. The thing is, in Belgium it is not allowed to sell one service or device only linked to another service or device. Both services or devices need to be available separatly. But the difference with other European countries, which offer similar consumer protection, is then that they can sell a device (at $1) linked to a service while also offering the device and service separatly at full price. The full price of an unlocked 16GB iPhone in Australia would also be about $900 AUD.
Soon my working day will be over, it was not one of the the best but I think I managed to learn something about people during it, you can hardly find someone who will be honest with you, everyone pretends, even I begin to do this. It hurts me but at the same time I know it does not have to offense me so much, because I am the only one able to change my life and I'm gonna do this. :) I prepare to go home and call my friends, I am a different person with them, because I know they do not judge me and even if they do I still love them because they are with me in my hard moments, also I have an interesting book at home this will help me to clean my thoughts from negative and become more detached from all this. OK! enough complaining myself this is Boring...I know.
Yesterday I visited my aunt, I haven't seen her for a long time and only yesterday realized how much I was missing her. I bought ice cream for me, she and her husband, knocked at the door and she opened it, her husband wasn't at home, as I was told after he is in Moscow and will come back in 2 weeks. We talked about many things and she showed me a lot of photos with the places she visited, on 4 July she is going to Romania. . When I was a student she helped me a lot and I will never forget this. She is one of the most smart and kind people I know. Now we live very close to each other due to the fact that I moved this week from my old apartment to a new one so I will see her more often than before.
Summer is surrounding me, soon the temperatures will get higher this usually bring the summer rains that I love so much. An acquaintance of mine Mariana not so long ago returned from Cyprus and showed me a lot of pictures She is so beautiful sun-tanned that I want to be like her.
I wrote a letter to Cyprus hotels agency to find out what special offers they have for September. I was given more then one to choose from - that was fun!- it is easy to say "Choose"- I thought they will gonna help me ...
"In Bruges" to be screened at the Hayden Orpheum in Cremorne starting September 4.
Laws have been introduced in NSW to prevent people "causing annoyance"during the pope's visit:
This in the end will cause more trouble and have the opposite effect as people, from anti-homophobia and pro-contraception activists, to victims of abuse (and certain comedians), will be testing both the scope of the laws and the willingness of the authorities to uphold them.Police have told organisations planning to campaign during World Youth Day events they need to have placards, banners and T-shirts pre-approved or risk losing their protest "rights".
Last week, at the Gold Coast in Queensland, a 16 year old teen, just walking down the street, was arrested for wearing a T-shirt by English extreme metal band Cradle of Filth that reads 'Jesus is a c**t' and has been charged with offensive behaviour. He wasn't skateboarding were he shouldn't, he wasn't ghetoblasting his heavy metal, he was wearing a t-shirt. More on News.com.au

Greetings from the desert (Arizona)!
So yesterday I ran off to Best Buy and got myself copies (well, it wasn't just for me) of the In Bruges dvd. I watched it right away. Here's what's on the dvd and some comments about it.
The Movie Well, the movie is just great, there isn't really much more to say about that. It's great to have it on dvd.
Deleted Scenes
Gag Reel A lot of fun to watch, really shows the atmosphere on the set, which was focused - but fun and friendly. I was present at one of the shots on the gag reel so that's fun to see.
When In Bruges and Strange Bruges gives you a look on the set and comments from Martin McDonagh and his cast. A lot of fun to watch because the interviews are most all footage that you haven't seen before (for instance online) so it's all new material. The cast talks about their characters and about the film, it's fun to watch.
A Boat Trip Around Bruges Is really literally a boat trip around Bruges. It's a camera on one of the tour boats going around Bruges a bit. I loved watching it; there was mist on the water and the city looked quiet and everything. I can especially imagine how people who've never been to Bruges or live far away from Bruges will love this.
F**king Bruges That would be the entire film, but ONLY the cussing. It's hilarious, we were laughing our asses off. It's just a shitload of cusswords all cut in one reel and it's very funny.
The dvd was $20 at Best Buy. I bought a copy for myself, for the family I'm staying with and for some friends I got over here. I do some good promotion right here :-P But it's a great DVD. There've been plenty of times when I bought special editions of dvds, only to find that the extras were all cut and paste work of stuff I'd already seen. This is a great dvd with fun extras. Good job!
Now all that's left is some Belgian and Dutch reviews upon the movie's release there, and then I think the ride called In Bruges pretty much comes to an end. Again; if you are located in the US you can win the dvd through this website! Just check out the In Bruges Fansite and you will be directed to the competition.
If you're in Belgium, you probably know that there was an In Bruges report on a Belgian show called "De Rode Loper" (The Red Carpet) last night. If you saw it or if you know how I can put it up here on the site, let me know. Arizona is a long, long way from Belgium.

Yes, we're doing one more contest. I'm sorry to say it is US only - but the prize is a US dvd of "In Bruges" so it kinda makes sense. When the dvd is released in Europe, who knows what I'll do.
To win:
1 - be a US resident with a valid address we can send your prize (the "In Bruges" dvd) to.
2 - you can enter through the "Shoutout" section, listed above in the website menu. Go to the Shoutout section, fill out the form with your email address, full name and the answer to the question in the comment box, also your state of residence.
3 - answer the following Question: In which European country is Bruges? Name one European country next to this country. (it's okay, you can pull out a map or go on google)
4 - don't be a smartass and go to the official website of the city of Bruges, because that site will only give you an estimate of a possible entrance fee, and not the numbers I am looking for. You have to remember from the film ;-)
5 - send in your answer and contact information before 24 July.
If you for some reason don't want to use the Shoutout form, you can also email your answer to nell.a@hotmail.com - make sure you add your full name, state, email address (for the record) and the answer.
The winner will be picked completely randomly. I will write your names down on bits of paper and let a friend draw one with their eyes closed. So no worries.
The "In Bruges" dvd will be in US stores 24 June 2008, with a listed price of $29,98 - Amazon sells the DVD for $19,99 from the same date. Order your copy from Amazon here. The dvd includes deleted scenes, extended scenes, a gagreel and features such as "When In Bruges". I am able to host this contest because I will be in the US from next week until early August. The prize will be sent to you by mail on our costs. If you give a false or no postal address (or one that is not a US address) we cannot let you enter the competition.
